Since switching our little one, Oliver, to cloth diapers we really struggled with the idea of having both boys in cloth. Aiden’s poops are a bit inconsistent, which may be TMI for all of you non-parents out there, but the idea of rinsing them in the toilet terrified me.
But, if I really want to live by my words of going green”er” I decided I really needed to put my money where my mouth is. So we switched. It also helped that Aiden started pulling his disposable diapers off in random places in the house- once and awhile he would even pee on the floor 😉 Cloth diapers with snaps were a simple solution. It’s also been thought to help little ones start to potty train quicker if you are using cloth diapers. I’ll let you know how that goes in another post.
My neighbor is super amazing and gave me her daughter cloth diaper stash (which she made herself). The white ones above are the homemade ones (they even have a pocket so I can use the inserts I already own).
So… Whites are for Aiden, colored are for Oliver. My next quest is to switch to cloth wipes. I have one set made, but I think I need to make a few more sets so we can go “all-in”.
Call me crazy, but the idea of spending 2K on each kids diapers, and even worse putting all those diapers in a landfill is AWEFUL.
Anyway- we are loving it and loving saving $100 a month on wipes and diapers.
